I would be curious what some others want to do with these controllers in Homekit… It’s pretty annoying the number of steps you have to go through in the app to tell it “run for the next four hours.”

Yo dog that’s the point of HomeKit. Just say “water the garden for two hours” to your phone/watch/speaker and it does it. That’s why we want HomeKit.

This is great, I’m excited for HomeKit support (it’s why I went with B-Hyve over others). A couple questions:

    1:
Will existing B-Hyve hose faucet timers will get an update to make them HomeKit compatible or will HomeKit only be available on newly purchased timers?

    2:
Will faucet timers require the Orbit Hub to connect to HomeKit or will the faucet timers be able to do bluetooth directly to an existing HomeKit Hub such as the HomePod? The bluetooth directly to the HomeKit Hub/HomePod is preferable in my opinion.

    3:
Are there plans to overhaul the B-Hyve app to reduce complexity and make it more intuitive, etc? I look at your competition (not going to name names) and I wish your app was as intuitive and flexible as theirs. I hope to see Orbit/B-Hyve be a leader in the “smart watering” scene.

    Thanks!

Any just to confirm– Existing older b-hyve hose faucet timers w/ hubs will get the update to make them HomeKit compatible?

I am very disappointed. I bought the bluetooth-only versions of the faucet timer because my location does not always have internet available. I was under the impression that the bluetooth-only version would be able to work offline just between the phone and faucet timer. When the orbit/b-hyve server went down yesterday, sure enough I couldn’t use my phone to control the timers anymore. I will be returning the timers unless there’s a response from orbit/developers that they plan to implement offline-capability into their app and device. It’s 2018, offline and no-cloud farm/irrigation equipment is a selling point used by many companies, let the farmer own their equipment.
