1. When smart watering is actually watering, the app does not show the correct zone… it shows a zone with 0s left, but not the actual zone that is watering. The stop and skip buttons still work, but it doesn’t show the current zone and how much time is left on that zone.
2. I might check the app on a Sunday evening and it may say there is a rain delay and the next scheduled smart water is Saturday at 6:30am. I take off the rain delay and it now says next scheduled smart water is Saturday at 6:00am. Then I wake up Monday morning and the system is watering the yard.
3. Since I can’t seem to trust smart watering, I’m trying to go back to using just programs. I set the time/date/etc. and when it comes time for it to be on… nothing. It shows on the calendar in a yellow/orange color. I was working on this this morning and I’m guessing that the app was thinking it was raining because that’s what it said on the top right of the program details (when I clicked into the calendar), but it was not raining and I wanted to water the lawn. My only recourse was to use the “Test” mode on each of the zones I wanted to water.

Ok, I went to another program, and it seems to be working ok. If anyone else has a solution to the problems I’m having with smart watering, let me know. Thanks.Spread the love!September 7, 2018 at 11:52 pm #71795Josh WheelerKeymaster
There’s updates coming that will fix the display for when a smart program is running, we’re testing the fixes now.
You can run both Smart and Custom programs if you want to make sure some water gets there and then let Smart just top things off as needed until you feel like it is doing what you expect. Just leave smart enabled then set the custom programs and Smart will know how much needs to be watered and if the Custom program doesn’t quite do it then it will schedule a Smart program for you.
There is a Remote Control screen for Manual watering, from the App’s home screen tap the Remote in the middle of the bottom navigation. From there you can build a “play list” of zones to run and how long to run each one. You can also tap on Programs in the upper right to run a saved program and you can just tap on the Play button before selecting any zones and then set a time and all the zones will run for that amount of time. This is much more convenient than using the Test feature in each screen.
For rain delays you can go to Settings > Devices > Select your device then scroll to Weather Adjustments and you can adjust the % forecast and amount forecast before it sets a rain delay. The higher the values the less it will set one and the lower the values the more often it will set one.
Hope that helps!Spread the love!September 8, 2018 at 12:27 am #71796teeitupParticipant
Glad to hear there is a fix on the way to correct the display when smart watering. I’m having the same issue where the app just shows the starting Zone (rather than actual zone that is watering) and doesn’t accurately show time remaining. Manual programs display correctly however. Is this a APP update or hardware/firmware update that will correct this?Spread the love!October 2, 2018 at 5:37 pm #71984Josh WheelerKeymaster
This is an app update, seems to be only iOS that’s currently affected. Let us know if you’re seeing this on Android though, phone make and model with OS version is very helpful.
Thanks!Spread the love!
