I’m having trouble running via manual on the controller device (non-mobile). I looked at the guide and followed the directions:
Example: To manually water on zone 1 for five minutes, turn the dial to [MANUAL] then press the dial. The dial then blinks on station 1, press the dial. Turn the dial until five minutes shows in the display then press the dial. Zone 1 begins to water.
However, the controller then blinks on zone 2 to allow me to progress through and add other zones. If I do nothing more, zone 1 will turn off after about 10 seconds. Even if I go through all the other zones and select 0 minutes, zone 1 still turns off.Spread the love!June 18, 2018 at 5:06 pm #3488
Hello Sbalbi, The timer shouldn’t cut the watering off. It’s normal for it to Switch over to the next station. However it should eventually go off of that and show the count down again for station 1. You pay want to try factory resetting your timer then try again. Also right after you enter in zone 1 and it starts watering you could hit the back button. Does it only stop watering while using manual watering’s?Spread the love!June 18, 2018 at 10:08 pm #3537
Hi Ryan, thank you for the response. I just tested manual mode again and keep getting the same result. I can run a program from the controller and it seems to work just fine. But when I use manual mode and put on any zone, that zone will start. When the blinking stops, the screen goes back to the home screen and the watering ends. The same thing happens if I manually turn on a zone and then click back. For about 1/4 of a second, the screen will show the time I selected and then disappears. The other functions seem to work fine which makes me think it’s a bug.Spread the love!June 18, 2018 at 11:23 pm #3547
Can you water normally from the app? If it’s only doing it from the actual timer in manual mode, you’ll want to factory reset the timer.Spread the love!June 19, 2018 at 5:53 pm #3595hopalongParticipant
My unit has the same issue of shutting off after a minute when running a manual program from the unit.Spread the love!June 19, 2018 at 8:18 pm #3616
If you provide me with your mac address I can take a look.
You could try re-connecting your timer, and updating your Wi-Fi settings. If it continues connect to Bluetooth. you might get a message that says something about the time being off. If that shows power cycle your timer. You will need to reconnect to the timer via Bluetooth again.
If it still isn’t working set the program through Bluetooth instead of reconnecting to Wi-Fi.Spread the love!June 20, 2018 at 12:59 am #3627
I connected with Orbit and did some troubleshooting steps. Couldn’t fix it. I had to send a video of how the timer exits the watering cycle after 30 blinks. Think its a bug. They are sending a replacement.Spread the love!June 20, 2018 at 5:52 pm #3680

I’ve had the same issue with my controller. I can run manual stations just fine from the app, but when I do it from the controller box, the sprinklers won’t stay on. I pick the zone, set the time, and hit enter. The display will go back to the home/auto screen after 20 seconds or so, and at that point the sprinklers turn off. I was sent a replacement unit a couple weeks ago and it does exactly the same thing. I called customer service again today and they did a forced firmware update. The rep was pretty confident this would fix the issue. I will try it tonight.Spread the love!June 29, 2018 at 3:58 pm #4100
@tubs, if you need any assistance just let us know. Also you may want to factory reset your timer if the issue continues, and then try again.Spread the love!June 29, 2018 at 4:11 pm #4104tubbsParticipant
The forced firmware update did the trick. It works properly now. No factory reset required.Spread the love!June 29, 2018 at 4:52 pm #4118
So to have them perform the firmware update, we should call customer service?Spread the love!June 29, 2018 at 4:59 pm #4121
@sbalbi, if you could provide me with you mac address I can check, and see if nay updates are available for your timer. Normally they will happen automatically as long as your timer is connected to internet when they push a new firmware update.Spread the love!June 29, 2018 at 5:01 pm #4122
Thanks, here is my MAC Address: MAC: 44:67:55:02:F6FABSpread the love!June 29, 2018 at 5:02 pm #4123
