As many others I’m trying for weeks to use the Smart Watering. It is frustrating.
I live in a penthouse, with quite many plants of different types. This has been watered for many years using drip heads. I used quite a simple watering timer, that turned on the water for about 7 minutes 4 times a day, at my preferred hours! During different seasons I reduced it by percentage, according to the season. For instance during winter it could be 30% of the summer time…
What I liked in the B-hyve, is the possibility that the timing can be automatically changed according to the weather.
I there a way to do it?Spread the love!July 23, 2018 at 6:46 pm #5074
Nachum, Your settings will adjust automatically based off your weather reports. In your device details page there is a section called weather adjustments. Here you can select a weather station near you to pull data from.
In your smart watering restrictions page you can limit the time, and days when your timer is allowed to water. You an also set a suggested start time. You will also want to go in to each zones smart details page, and make changes in your watering schedule adjustments page. Here you can adjust the frequency between each scheduled watering cycle. You can also edit the runtime for that particular zone. Once the settings have been entered, the adjustments from your weather stations/future watering schedules will be much more like what you’d like them to be. If you have any further questions please let us know.Spread the love!July 23, 2018 at 7:05 pm #5079
Thank you for the answer. I did configure several times all of this.
The automatic schedule sets the watering to 7 minutes once a day!!! and the following day is 14 minutes once a day. This isn’t good, since 14 minutes at once is much to much!!!
I prefer (and have perfect results) watering 4 times a day 7 minutes each time.
How can I achieve this but with adjustments made by the weather report?
The best for me can be to adjust manually this 7 minutes 4 times a day and let the weather report “play” Plus or Minus…Spread the love!July 23, 2018 at 8:13 pm #5086
There is no way to have your schedule run so it is split into four separate watering cycles every day for one zone. If you adjusted the runtime for that zone under watering schedule adjustments with a runtime of 28min, and a frequency of every day it could split it anywhere from 1 to up to 4 intervals. There is currently no way to edit that setting. You could however set a custom program so it runs exactly how you want it, and then leave smart watering enabled for your device. This will still allow for weather delays for your custom programs, even if your not using smart watering for any of your individual zones.Spread the love!July 23, 2018 at 9:40 pm #5104
Thanks again Ryan.

Can you please be more specific regarding that? How to define it and how will the weather report influence?
2. Can I ask for an enhancement request to be able to achieve what I was asking from the beginning?

Nachum, I so sorry for the vagueness in my previous post. I meant that If you set a custom program you could have it run for your 7min a day with 4 cycles (or start times). If you also have smart watering enabled for your device it won’t edit your custom programs runtime based off the weather, but it will set automatic rain, wind, and freeze delays preventing watering. It’s not exactly what you wanted but I think it would be the closest thing to it. you could also create multiple programs for the seasons, and just have them saved in your app. Then when the weather starts to change you can just replace your current program. This just makes it so you don’t have to keep deleting and reentering your programs every time the seasons change.
Also we thank you for you feedback, and I’ll be sure to pass it up.Spread the love!
