I have a six zone index valve on my b-hyve. It is wired to com and pump and works fine manually (on – off). I can’t figure out how to get a 5 minute delay between zones so I can run on auto. Can you help me out?

Hello @Rich, there is no way to program delays in between each station. In order to program the timer for indexing valves, you will need to wire jumpers from station 1 to station 3, and from station 3 to station 5. You will program 1, 3, and 5 to run for your duration, and stations 2, 4, and 6 will have your delay minutes. Then you will program 2 start times. The first start time will water your first 3 zones, the 2nd start time will water your last 3 zones.

Thanks Stephen. It will be a few days before I get to try this but I can tell by your level of detail it’s going to work. Why the jumpers?

The jumpers are so that the voltage gets to the valve from terminals to the valve. Typically an indexing valve will only have two wires coming off of it, so it would make it impossible for the voltage to get from 1, 3, and 5 back to the valve. The jumpers will allow the voltage to get from each terminal to the valve. If you have more than 2 wires, you can put the extras into 3 and 5.

    Hi Stephen,

I have the jumpers 1 to 3 and 3 to 5 but the cycle does not stop. Also, there is no other wire in #1. I have only com and pump plus the rain gage jumper wired.

Move the wire from pump to Station 1.
