ParticipantWhat weather service does BHyve use. I see an option to include Personal weather stations, but don’t see anywhere where I can add my own weather station.
I am already sharing with Weather Underground, so wondered what weather service Byhve using so I can register/use my own weather station. Thanks,

ParticipantUnder a devices details in weather adjustments you can select personal weather stations by selecting current weather station (make sure that you personal weather stations on, by using the little slide bar at the bottom).
Our system uses the weather data from Aeris.

ParticipantAny update on this? This is a make or break feature before I buy because of microclimates

ParticipantNot an official answer, but I was looking at this as well.
From a competitor’s product FAQ on this, Aeris gets PWS weather data from the PWSWeather.com servers or through the CWOP program.
From that, one needs to have their station report their data to one of those servers and then will be seen by the controller.
I am still working on this, as I really really want to get my rain data for my FL house to the B-Hyve, as it can rain 1″ in one area and be completely dry a few miles away. I am out of luck with PWSWeather, as Davis, those expensive stations that one would think are ‘advance’, currently does not support data upload to the PWSWeather servers. I am working on getting my station to CWOP to see if it appears in the map.
That said, I can say that the B-Hyve algorithms are getting better, and the switch to Aeris is a positive as well as the ability to customize the use of weather data (percentage & rain) for rain delay. Good to see things getting better over time.

ParticipantThought I would give an update on my experience.
I can confirm that if you go through the process to get your Personal Weather Station (PWS) connected to CWOP, it will show up as an option for PWS within the B-Hyve. It took a week after I got my CWOP ID, but it showed up on the day I was told it would. For the reasons stated above, this is a great feature!

ParticipantI realize Orbit can’t answer this, but can anyone else tell me what brand and model of a weather station they have successfully used for a bHyve PWS?

BlockedI just bought a Ambient Weather WS-2902A 10-in-1 Wi-Fi Professional Weather Station with Internet Monitoring and registered with WeatherUnderground, working on migrating the BHyve to my weather station, will post an update if I have anything to relay.

BlockedI found this link at PWS:
What do I need to post my data to PWSweather.com?
Doesn’t look good for my WS-2902A, that sucks.

BlockedIntegration with If This Than That (https://ifttt.com) would be nice, if we can’t use the most common source of weather information. I live in very much a microclimate, it can rain 4 or 5 blocks away, and I get nothing, the whole point of a smart sprinkler device is this functionality. Weather Underground is a very open platform, and should be supported. The smart watering is a cryptic black box, and so far, I am way over watering my yard with this device, compared to a simple classic timer with a rain sensor wired in. I might just wire in my rain sensor, but the point here was you shouldn’t need that.

ParticipantHello eckirchn, you may want to try adjusting your zones watering schedule adjustments found under each zones smart details page. Here you can adjust the runtime, and how often it will water. Just let me know if you need any help making these adjustments.

ECKIRCHN,
Getting your data to PWSWeather is just one of the two options that I know of. The other is to get your weather data uploaded to CWOP. My station too was not compatible with PWSWeather, . . . but I was able to get it to CWOP and can confirm that Aeris will then pick it up and my PWS now appears in the App.

BlockedThanks Brent, bringing me back to Ham Radio eh? I have been happy with weatherunderground, not sure I can do both, short of a service that migrates that data. I’ll check it out. Thanks

BlockedOk, here is what I have done:
Prerequisites (related or not):
* Connected Receiver to Sensor (wireless)
* Connected Receiver to Local Network (Wifi)
* Registered with Ambient Weather using MAC
* Registered for WeatherUnderground Station ID (https://www.wunderground.com/signup)
* Confirmed Data received at WU over serveral days
Attempt to get data to Aeris:
* Registered for CWOP Account and Station ID (http://www.findu.com/citizenweather/cw_form.html)
* Registered with IFTTT (if this than that) (https://www.ambientweather.com/community.html)Although I have Raspberry Pi(s) running around the house, and not yet able to find the software to do it, I am not terribly interested in running a dedicated local process to do this.

BlockedThink I was able to get my WeatherUnderground data transferred to PWSWeather doing this:
Found a github project for exactly this purpose (https://github.com/ecrode/WeatherViaPHP and http://wufyi.com/)
* Registered with cron-job.org (https://cron-job.org/en/signup/)
* Got my API key from Weather Undergound (https://www.wunderground.com/weather/api/) – Already had one from use with KodiFollowed this URL format
* http://wufyi.com/?wuAPI=YourAPIwouldGoHere&wuID=UndergroundStationID&pwsID=PWSstationID&psw=YourPWSpasswordOpening this URL resulted in:
* The latest data from 14 seconds ago was transfered over to pwsweather.com; This took 371.85978889465 ms to do (270.09105682373 => 90.903043746948)
Enabled a Cron Job ever 1 minute at cron-job.org
I see my station at https://www.pwsweather.com/obs/%5Bmy station id].html, and after a few minutes, did see it in the b-hyve application for weather sensors. I will give this a bit of time, and confirm it’s really my station and it’s updating enough to help the B-Hyve, but at this point, I think I can mark this as SOLVED.
