I set up smart watering for my 12 zones. Smart water determined to have each zone running for 76 minutes once every 5 days and I set it to start at 5:30AM. If I understand things correctly this means that it will start at 5:30AM on Friday and finish at 8:30PM Friday night. 15 hours is A LONG time for my well pump to be on continuously. Another problem with this is that most of my lawn will be watered during the hottest/sunniest parts of the day. I don’t like to water then. I also don’t like watering at night for fungus/moss concerns.

Is there anyway to say “use smart water to water zones 1,2,3 on Friday. then use smart water to water zones 4,5,6 on Saturday. (and so on)” Or have smartwater automatically determine the zones that it can finish within the allotted window of time?

I’ve tried setting watering restrictions to not water between 10AM and 5:30AM hoping that it would automatically split the zones up over several days, but it seems to only schedule waterings for Friday morning between 5:30am-10am.

BTW, I just installed the bhyve today and I really really like the product and app.

You will need to go to the smart details page for each zone and select watering schedule adjustments. Here you can edit for how long and how often your smart watering schedule runs for that specific zone.

That would be a way in which I can alter the length, that is not what I want to do. What I want to alter is either the start day or the window of time in which it is allowed to start. Or maybe some option that says “smartwatering group A”, “smartwatering group B”, and each group defines a day of the week or window of time in which it can run. I think the best is if the app automatically realize that it cannot complete within the time window and schedules itself over multiple days to start.

chrisplak, there currently is no way to specify which days you want certain zones to water on smart watering. Smart watering should not schedule to water during a no watering time, could you please provide your MAC address so that I can check and update your firmware if necessary.
