    I have my WiFi specifically set to not broadcast the SSID. When pairing with, or updating the WiFI settings in the iOS app with the new BHyve (ABCD version), the app will not show my WiFi SSID on the available list because it’s not broadcast – which is correct. So I click on the Advanced link and enter my non-broadcast SSID, password and select the proper security. I then hit Connect on the top right of the app. This should then try to connect to the SSID I entered. However the app goes right back to the prior page (the original list of broadcast SSID’s) and the tries to refresh the list. This never works – nor should it. With that said, I had the prior model (ABC version) and it worked fine so I know this should work. The app is not even attempting to try to connect. It’s not a device issue – it appears to be an app issue. I have a feeling it may be the new iOS 11.3 that may be the culprit since, as I said, it worked a month ago when I tried the prior version. I have an iPhone X and just upgraded to iOS 11.3 mid last week.

    As a workaround, I enabled the SSID broadcast temporarily, paired the WiFi (it worked because my SSID showed on the list – didn’t need to use the Advanced link). Then I shut down the SSID broadcast, but then the BHyve disconnected from the SSID. I actually thought this should work as devices would normally remember the SSID, so not sure what that’s about. Please help!!! I have a screen capture of this behavior if you provide me a way to give it to you.

    Having similar issue, except the unit goes out completely when attempting to connect. Power is still connected (when unplugged shows “No AC”), but nothing is visible on the screen except a faint flicker. None of the controls work, or at least you can’t see them working.

    I have reached out to Orbit support on multiple occasions and in multiple mediums, but have yet to receive a response. Just sat on hold for over 30 minutes listening to terrible music, so I have now turned to here as a last resort before returning the item and moving on to a different brand.

    I had a similar issue with the screen. I pulled the small battery out completely and put it back and then the screen starting working.

    Unfortunately that didn’t work for me. Still blank screen until unplugged, then I get the “no AC” on the screen but that’s it.

    Any update to the timeline for repairing this “bug”, that I can go back to having a hidden network (not broadcasting SSID)?

    The good news is the app is updated and the are testing the firmware fix now. It shouldn’t be too much longer. I’m fortunate that I have a guest network that I do broadcast the SSID so I’ve been using it and I really like the unit – great value for the cost, especially against competitors. I had an irrigationcaddy for the past few years but they went out of business and my unit became a brick. That’s why I went with Orbit as they should be sticking around! The Rachio seems to be all the rave and is now carried in Costco – but what if they don’t stick around? It will be worthless. Also, like my irrigationcaddy, it doesn’t have any display or user entry on the unit – you have to use the app. I really like the Orbit because you get the best of both!!!

    I had the same problem as Steven. I installed the controller, checked all wiring and pulled the battery tab. The screen showed “no AC”. I then plugged the unit in and the “no AC” went away but nothing happened, blank screen. I checked all the voltages, everything is fine. What is the solution?

    I was told my unit was “Bricked.” This happened twice. The solution is simple…return/exchange the unit. I am on my third unit now, and probably returning it soon for a different brand. There is a bug in the software that causes the unit to essentially become a paperweight when you attempt to connect it to a hidden network. Allegedly, the actual fix is the difficult part. I spoke with support just this week that stated “We are still working on those [issues] and we have no current timeline [for a solution].” In addition, they still have not made it HomeKit compatible, as advertised.

    Inferior firmware, maybe. But “bricked,” unlikely. Did you test with the SSID broadcasted?

    FWIW, the unit didn’t like my hidden SSID, but when the SSID was broadcasted, the unit worked as expected.

    “Bricked” was the term used by B-Hyve support when the unit became non-responsive…twice (two separate units). You are correct about with SSID broadcasting issue. The “Bricked” events occurred prior to me broadcasting my SSID when I manually entered the wifi information. On the third unit, I just broadcasted and stayed broadcasting. However, I ran into a new issue with the unit telling me I had a “Pump Fault” but when troubleshooting, it was determined I did not have an issue with my system, instead it was the unit again. At that point, B-Hyve wanted to get me on a 4th unit in less than a month, so I gave up on B-Hyve.

    I had the pump fault issue on my unit too. I just removed the wire from the Zone 1 connector (which is right next to the pump connector) and put it back in. That cleared the fault and it’s been operating properly since.

    There’s no real security gain from hiding the SSID, by the way. Any WiFi analyzer will quickly get the (hidden) SSID from the traffic between existing devices and the access point. You’re slowing down a potential hacker by a minute or two, but mostly yourself every time you connect a new device.
