ParticipantDear @SD.RASMUSSEN65,
Unfortunately, the new SmartThings mobile APP does not support custom Device Type Handlers (DTH) which is a requirement for integrating non supported SmartThings devices like the b•hyve™ water controller and so many other 3rd party home automation devices (eg. weather stations, some smart thermostats, Honeywell/DSC home alarm systems, Raspberry Pi computers, spa controllers, google calendars, some home video cameras, some door locks, etc.
I think one can use both the legacy SmartThings App which supports custom DTH’s along with the new SmartThings APP but many SmartThing users have not recommended it due to conflicts with some/not all devices.
Supporting custom DTH’s is one of the major reasons why so many SmartThing users have not migrated to the new SmartThings App. We hope that SmartThings engineers will enhance the new SmartThings mobile App to be equal or better than the legacy App, but that is not the case so far.

ParticipantWeb Socket, ugh… I was hoping for API… Oh well, when you get a chance to debug, let me know and I will tackle it.

ParticipantThe Web UI has a “Watering Status” parameter that I can’t seem to find in the response to the various API calls. I REALLY want ST to know when the system is watering or not watering. Any thoughts on how to how to determine watering status through the API?

Participant@KurtSanders I found this online in another forum and it seems that they have found the API endpoints to start and stop watering. I do not know if you have seen this or if it will be helpful to you in your integration.

Your app works well for my BHyve controller for status. Perhaps you could be encouraged to integrate zone start and stop??

Participant+1 for published API.
I’m a Homeseer user and keen to get my irrigation automatically turning off for a while when house visitors arrive.
All I need is API documentation!Spread the love!July 9, 2019 at 7:36 pm #77782simirrigation
ParticipantPlease for the love of God give us API access to this thing! I would love to use the soil sensors I have for my smart home to control when watering occurs. For the love of God, please let u s do this!!!

ParticipantOne more endorsement for a public API. I also want to integrate my own soil sensors to control watering schedules.
Thanks for a great product (in all respects other than the API :-). The b-hyve faucet timer is perfect for me in every other respect. Before I purchase any more than my one test device I want to have confidence I can integrate with my home automation and scale up. If we see some progress on this I am happy to commit fully to the b-hyve, else I guess I’ll have to move to an opensprinkler setup (a lot more setup work for me). I also have a bunch of neighbours who will be interested :-).

Participant+1 on the API.
Would love to program a few things outside of the app for myself. I’m sure they have an API, it just needs to be exposed.

ParticipantKick off 2020 with another request for an API so the smart community can turn irrigation on and off etc by responding to home automation environment…
Not to mention that my devices have Apple HomeKit codes and was part of the reason I purchased… but this does not work…
Come on b-hyve… please publish an API…
Josh

Participanttwo years already. I guess they just ignore this thread.
You have such a good product. Why do you not support it a bit more, to make it great?
