I was getting the same message with the app, “Your device is offline, please check WiFi and power for timer.” All my WiFi devices were working fine. The control box was completely unresponsive. Before I followed the “Deauthorize Device” option, I tried unplugging my router, then unplugged the control box and removed the backup battery, then powered my router back on (takes about 10min for my router to boot up), then I plugged the control box back in with battery and it connected itself just fine again. All my settings and programs are fine as if nothing had went wrong.
